And no, its not with a 12th grader. 😉
The Seattle Mom Prom is the ultimate ladies night out and a wonderful benefit. An evening of drinks, dessert and dancing, that in fact is not JUST for moms. Ladies, you really must check this out. Not only will it be a great night to leave the kids, husbands and boyfriends at home, you’ll also be supporting a fantastic cause that is very near and dear to my heart and this blog. Proceeds will benefit Postpartum Support International of Washington.
This worthy organization has been providing resources, and supporting families with Pregnancy and Postpartum Mood Disorders for more than 20 years. Seattle Mom Prom will help them continue their valuable programming and services, such as free mother-to-mother phone support, drop-in support groups and public seminars, educational publications, educational trainings for professionals, and a state-wide education and awareness campaign regarding Postpartum Mood Disorders.
This year’s Prom is at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center May 21, 2011 from 8pm-12am. Tickets are currently $25 per person, but will increase to $30 on April 12. At the door, the cost will be $40, so be sure to talk to your friends, get a group together, and get your tickets early. Girls, I’ll be emailing you!
Purchase tickets here.
Each admission will include a tiara, drink ticket, door prize entry, dessert (like Trophy Cupcakes!), candy & snacks, unlimited photos with a photographer & backdrops, and dancing all night long.
Moms, you deserve this carefree and fun night out! And just think what a great Mother’s Day gift it would be (hint hint Dads).
If you’re not available to attend, but still want to support a great cause, Seattle Mom Prom offers a Sponsored Ticket option. Buy a ticket or multiple tickets for those who can’t afford to attend. Wonderful! Every mom deserves a night out.
Seriously there will be a TON of great things going on at Seattle Mom Prom.
- Four stylists have volunteered to provide FREE hairstyling, blow-outs, up-dos,etc. one hour before Prom and during the event.
- Take part in a silent auction with items just for the ladies (& not the kids!) including haircuts, yoga classes, jewelry (like EllieAdorn!), dance lessons, personal organizing, restaurant gift certificates, theater tickets, movies tickets, car washes, and more!
- A twist on the typical Mom of the Year contest, please nominate a mom here.
This event is absolutely come as you are. You do not need to dress-up, unless you want to. I’ve been told that some women came in sweats and a t-shirt last year. There’s no reason not to come just because you hate to dress up. Although a kitchy prom gown, might be a nice twist.
Seattle Mom Prom is still looking for local companies to donate. If you’re interested in becoming involved, please contact Prom Founder & Organizer Myla Rugge, 425.445.7823, firstname.lastname@example.org.
