You may have seen my preliminary review of Everpurse, the purse that charges your smartphone, back in June when the company so generously sent me a prototype on loan for my Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk. We backed their Kickstarter last year and its no secret I had been anxiously awaiting my purse this summer, particularly with BlogHer ’13 rapidly approaching.
Thankfully, the team at Everpurse was kind enough to get mine out to me just in time for my trip in July to BlogHer in Chicago. I knew I was really going to need it during my travel and conference days and nights.
Internal Charging Pocket.
Room for cards, money, lipstick and other essentials.
Ellie and Mommy’s Everpurse
Everpurse is the brain child of Liz Salcedo of Chicago. A successful Kickstarter in 2012 launched their business. I love that this is a woman-owned technology company. Here she is holding the Leather Persimmon Everpurse.
Everpurse Founder Liz Salcedo
John and I discovered their Kickstarter because his company also had one at the same time (which was also very successful I might add!) He backed Everpurse as a birthday gift for me.
Don’t I have an awesome husband?!
Their product concept is one of those “why hadn’t anyone thought of this before?” kind of ideas. A purse with an integrated smart phone charging pocket. It comes in fabric and leather in many beautiful colors. Its small enough to be used inside a larger purse or used by itself as a clutch. There is also an optional shoulder strap available.
Several of the available styles (there are more on their web site.)
With the holidays coming, Everpurse would make an amazing gift for any woman on-the-go . Of course at the price range of $189 to $329, this isn’t a stocking stuffer. More the big gift! It is expensive, but the purse is a high quality luxury clutch with the wonderful charging feature.
Everpurse is compatible with iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5, as well as the new iPhone 5s/5c. If you’re an Android user , Everpurse works with Samsung Galaxy S3/S4. Your Everpurse also comes with a charging mat that is used to wirelessly charge the purse. It takes six hours to fully charge your purse and with a full charge you can charge your phone twice over. If not used the charge lasts approximately two weeks.
Wireless Charging Mat
One awesome feature of the charging mat is that if another person in your family has a smartphone with the “Qi” charging standard they can simply place their phone on the charging mat and wireless charge their phone directly. (Here’s a Pinterest Board showing phones with this charging standard) . John has a Windows phone HTC 8x, and he charges it on my Everpurse mat every day. He loves that feature for sure.
During my trip to BlogHer, I used it constantly. I never lost charge the entire trip and trust me I was using my phone all the time. I love the fact that I never have to stress about my phone going dead at the wrong moment. I’ve had it for 3 1/2 months and still love it. I wish I could afford to get them in several colors.
Me and My Everpurse at BlogHer
One small annoyance is that on occasion it takes a few tries of placing the purse on the mat to get the purse to actually charge. I’m told that is because the mat and purse need to line up in a certain way. Otherwise its great.
Two Thumbs Up!
Disclosure: I did not receive compensation for this post. We backed the Kickstarter to receive my Everpurse. All opinions are 100% my own.
