Superheroes! Disney Infinity 2.0

Filed Under: Entertainment, Kids Activities, Tech

Cbias Disclosure

Our brand new Disney Infinity Games 2.0 Starter Pack shipped on Monday, and immediately the kids began asking “Is it here?! Can we check the mail?!”

No doubt, we are a gaming household. With John making games for a living, and the kids thinking about, talking about, playing, or live acting their favorite games on a daily basis (seriously), the launch of a new video game is big news in this house. We’ve played version 1 since it came out last year, so a new Disney Infinity game, with Marvel Super Heroes no less, has been cause for rejoicing.

When it did arrive, Ronin of course was the one who found it in the mailbox and screamed across the neighborhood, “Disney Infinity is HERE!” to the delighted whoops of Ellie nearby. We immediately ran in to open it. Happy faces.

If you’re unfamiliar with Disney Infinity Games, real world figurines (this time Marvel Super Heroes!) are placed on a base transporting you into the electronic Disney universe to become the characters. They activate story-driven adventures and puzzles, and of course lead you on important missions to eventually save the world, as any good super hero must do.

One of the cool things about the game is actually having the figures. My kids love them. They are constantly playing pretend with the action figures, acting out little scenes, hosting parties, and of course now with our new super heroes, fighting off bad guys. They even take them for “share day” at school. I think Thor might be shared soon, don’t you?

Now I must confess, in our house I’m the least skilled with the Xbox 360 controller. I’ve played some, but in our home it’s John and the kids who are the real gamers. They often have bonding time together when he gets home from work or on a weekend, relaxing on the couch playing games together.

So when the starter pack arrived John decided to leave work a bit earlier than normal to head home and try it out with the kids. After a quick set up…

…the kids took turns playing against Daddy.

They are VERY serious until they stop playing.

Its really adorable because its something they truly enjoy doing together, and I like being their cheerleader…or while they’re playing I might even get a little me time to read a book or write or relax. On a weekend, I might even get to SLEEP IN. Yay!

So here’s a great Mom Tip! Buy Disney Infinity 2.0 #InfinityHeroes for your husband and kids. Fun family entertainment for them, and a time out for you!

Also, if you or your kids are super hero fans like mine, check out the social hub at heroeseatmms.com. Take a little quiz to see which Marvel Super Hero you are, and and find tons of really adorable Captain America themed-treats and recipes. You’ll even have a chance to enter to win $100 to Walmart.

By the way, I took the quiz and got The Hulk. I was kind of shocked at first but then after reading the description, it is eerily right on:

“Like Hulk, you are smart, resourceful, and curious. You love research and learning new things. It is important that those close to you are always truthful. When something goes wrong, it is your natural inclination to take responsibility and fix the problem. If given the choice, you prefer to spend time alone as opposed to in a group of people. You can be quick to anger, but you are also quick to cool down again.”

HULK

Yep, I’d say that’s me in a nutshell, except for the green skin and really big muscles. Who’d you get?

And let me know how you like Disney Infinity 2.0!

I love that first photo – it brought the biggest smile to my face so thank you for that. It’s great that this game is so much fun for your kids and that they have such fun playing it with their dad.

I, too prefer to play my video games in a mask. This looks like so much fun, we have some Monsters U infinity characters and play every chance we get. It’s a wonderful way to get interactive and pretend to be one of your favorite characters!
