Did you miss the kick off of my new series? I’ve been struggling with depression and lack of energy so I started this 30 Days of Positive Affirmations to help me (and you) visually see and verbally repeat affirmations to change our lives. You don’t have to be depressed for this to make an impact. But we CAN alter our perspective and perceptions for the better. Click to read about Affirmation #1 and Affirmation #2. And now for the next in the series.
Affirmation #3
Uh, yeah. That is so not true … not even a little bit.
When I’m depressed (and honestly even when I’m not) my energy level is not the best. I wake up and instantly think about hitting the snooze, dreaming it was the weekend already. We get the kids off to school and I so desperately want to jump back into bed (since I work at home) and am only stopped by the need to get the job done. I have to admit, on the days that I do not have deadlines I do sometimes take a nap at 9 a.m.
During depressive times, it can be a curse and a blessing to work from home. Am I getting the rest I need or am I enabling myself? My energy has been so bad lately I’ve been neglecting this blog and things around the house too. My life feels in shambles most of the time. So this little gem of an affirmation is pretty important for me.
Today I am bursting with ENERGY.
I envision myself beaming with the intensity of a thousands suns.
I visualize overflowing with the electrical energy of every solar, wind and hydroelectric power station on the planet. Yes, I’m talking renewable energy here.
I know I’m easily rechargeable … just like the batteries we have in our kitchen.
And my battery power can last and last and last … unlike my iPhone that drains in half a day.
Can you imagine?! What must that feel like!?
I do recall feeling slightly more energetic in non-depressive times, like during the holidays last year. All the family around, including John who took some time off. The spirit and excitement of the season surrounding me. I even had a lot of extra work, but got it done and most of the time had a smile on my face.
If you’re the type of person who is bursting with energy I would love to know how you do it. For now I’m going to think about and repeat this affirmation, sending my wish to the universe that my level of energy can and will increase.
Today I am bursting with ENERGY.
What would you get done today if you had the energy?
