Disclosure: I am a campaign leader for Social Fabric, however I have not been compensated for this post. The opinions expressed are 100% my own.
DAY 19 OF 30 DAYS OF POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS is all about career and bringing abundant success into my life.
I’ve been blogging for over 5 years, and before that I worked for more than 15 in marketing and public relations for big and small brands. I even went to university for Communications, so I’m one of those rare people who have always used her degree. I also have a passion for art and creativity so my strengths tie perfectly with where my career has headed post kids.
But even with all of that experience, I’m learning something new every day. I’m making new connections. I’m building my tribe. I’m finding opportunities and enhancing my success.
I’m a writer … content creator … amateur photographer … artist … and marketing guru … but even gurus need to keep learning and growing. I’m a “social media butterfly” continually transforming.
Do you like my “social media butterfly” illustration? I think it needs to be a new t-shirt!
I’m also a campaign leader for the blogging community Social Fabric. Last year we were fortunate to have one of the SoFabU On the Road Conferences here in Seattle.
I had just become a CL after being a blogger in the community for over a year. I also worked as part of the Creative Council after making wonderful connections at the SoFabCon in Arkansas in 2013.
From the moment I joined SoFab I started getting work and meeting fabulous people (pun intended!) I knew this group was special so I’ve put my all into it and it’s paid off. My growth as a blogger in terms of skill AND numbers has skyrocketed since becoming a part of Social Fabric. I have had abundant opportunities to make money for my family as a blogger and a campaign leader (and the opportunities do not stop there!)
And I have found a group of individuals who feel more like a team … or even a family!
2016 SoFabU On the Road Conferences
One of the greatest things about the community is SoFab University, a blogger education portal exclusively for members. Our bloggers are so incredibly open about helping mentor and educate each other about best practices and tips to success, and these day conferences are the live version of that education. They’re coming once again to a few US Cities this year. (But sadly not Seattle!)
You can join SoFabU On the Road in these cites:
I would love to go to one of these events for several reasons. My experiences at conferences have been so helpful to my career over the years.
To Learn
I’d love to go of course to learn from wonderful speakers because every time I go to one of these conferences I come away with tangible, actionable items that enhance my work and my blog. I continue to learn to be better, to be fairly compensated for my effort and time, and to help others with my genuine quality content.
Specifically I’m thrilled for the speakers at the Chicago conference. I’m particularly interested in the session about Pinterest Analytics, which I am dying to attend. Pinterest is one of my largest sources of traffic and I would love to leverage that even further. Also, the session about creating an effective email strategy is another that really intrigues me. I am not using my email list to its fullest potential!
To Connect
If I’m being completely honest one of the most important things to me about attending SoFabU On the Road is to connect with the bloggers I love, and to give big hugs to the members of my CM team like Samantha @peanutsgang2004 (who I have shockingly never met in person) and Kristin @mamaluvsbooks (who I happily have) and others who I’m sure will be there!
To Grow in My Career
Making connections is vital to my career path. It’s where I need to be, and how I’ll grow further in my success as a work-from-home entrepreneur.
The growth of this industry and that of social media influence is so very exciting to me. Blogging is my career of choice, and I won’t settle for less than the best.
Which brings me to today’s positive affirmation! Today is Day 19. I’m so proud of myself bringing this 30 Days project to fruition, and seeing my blog grow. So today I repeat these words over and over and over again (and I encourage you to do the same.)
It’s about bringing abundance into your life.
If you say it/think it/believe it, it will come true.
