Growth. Opportunity. Community.
When asked yesterday during the #Lucky2beSoFab St. Patty’s Day Twitter Party, those were the three words I used to describe Social Fabric, the blogger network by Collective Bias. I’ve been a member of “SoFab” for about a year and a half, and it’s been such a blessing in my blogging career. I pretty quickly saw what a strong community it is and made it my mission to become a bigger part of it.
Last year, I applied for their conference scholarship and was awarded a trip to SoFabCon in Arkansas. After that trip, I then went on to get many more blogging jobs. I also become a member of their Creative Council, and just recently was hired to become a Campaign Leader. I just had my training last week in fact!
There are a lot of blogger networks out there, but SoFab has been so much more for me.
Growth. Opportunity. Community.
One of the greatest things about Social Fabric is SoFab University, a blogger education portal exclusively for members of Social Fabric. Our bloggers are so incredibly open about helping mentor and educate each other about best practices and tips to success. And this year, SoFabU is taking it on the road. They’re coming to several US Cities and I was thrilled to see Seattle on the list.
Of course I registered for Seattle #SoFABUOTR immediately (before becoming a CL) because I believe that “growth, opportunity and community” is greatly enhanced when you have a chance to connect with that community in person. Going to last year’s SoFabCon was a catalyst for me to make a much better blogging income, to contribute financially to my family doing something I love from home, while still being with the kids.
You don’t have to be a member of Social Fabric to attend, but if you’re a blogger and not a SoFab member I encourage you to apply for membership. Don’t be afraid if you don’t have a huge following. Trust me, mine is not that big, but I can tell you absolutely that since joining and learning from the awesome members of Social Fabric my traffic has more than doubled; my photography has grown by leaps and bounds; and I’m working with some incredible brands.
If you’ve never attended a blogging conference, or have social anxiety, or even just consider yourself shy, this is the perfect event to attend. It’s an intimate day event with a max of about 50 participants. I’ll be in Seattle so if you don’t know anyone, just comment on this post or even email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can make plans to connect at the start of the event. I’m pretty shy myself so truly I know what you’re feeling. In fact, I’ve posted tips to make the most of a confidence if you have social anxiety based on my own experience at previous conferences.
