He also adores Minecraft, along with his little sister Ellie. They are such huge gamers, like their Daddy. It’s so sweet to see them enjoy something together so very much. Their latest project is building a Minecraft school together. It is the cutest thing.

Just last night as they were working on it, Ellie had hidden a surprise for Ronin, which he accidentally stumbled upon. She was so upset that he spoiled the surprise! But as she cried all I could think was how sweet that she wanted to leave him something special. Their relationship is one of my favorite things in life. When I think that we talked about only having one child! I would not want to miss seeing them grow together for the world.
For Ronin’s birthday party, we’re hosting a few of his closest friends and cousins at Chuck E Cheese, and he asked for a Minecraft themed party. While they provide the food, plates and utensils, I wanted to figure out a couple fun ways to incorporate this chosen theme into his event. In his mind a party HAS to have a theme. So I decided there were a few ways I could do just that, and one is with his party favors. (I’ll share my other Minecraft party ideas in a later post.)
I created this adorable Minecraft-themed Creeper cup to be the main element of Ronin’s party favors, and wanted to share with you how I did it. I searched high and low for inexpensive green drinking cups, and was thrilled when I walked into Dollar Tree and found almost exactly what I was looking for. The green color is a big dark but they definitely fill the bill. You can use any type of green cup to make this little DIY project a reality for your party.
DIY Minecraft Creeper Cup

What You’ll Need
Green Drinking Cup (these were purchased at Dollar Tree in their Fall/Halloween section)
Small Sharp Scissors

Instructions
Step 1: Creeper Eyes: Cut a 1-inch strip of black duct tape and then cut it in half to create the eyes of your Creeper. Tape them approximately 1/4 from the cop of your cup as shown. You will want to stick them lightly at first to make sure that your mouth shape fits in the space between the eyes. You may need to move the eyes to position in all perfectly once your mouth shape is cut. Note: It’s important to keep the duct tape taut and your scissors clean for the straightest cuts.

Step 2: Creeper Mouth. To create the “mouth” cut a 2-inch strip of duct tape. Holding the rectangle of tape vertically cut small 1/4-inch squares as shown on one end. You will want the width of the shape that remains after your 1/4-inch square cuts to be the same width as the space between the eyes of your creeper.

Then on the other end of the duct tape, cut two 1/2-inch slits straight up about 3/4-inch apart from each other, then cut across to create the bottom of the mouth. You may also want to trim the outside of the duct tape to make this shape thinner, but it is not necessary. Your mouth can be the width of the original duct tape depending on the size of the cup you are using.
Stick the mouth to the cup. Make sure the top shape of the mouth is the exact width of the space between the eyes. And there you have it!

My grandsons would so love this. And when it becomes boring, they can remove the tape and make something else.
I like this idea for decorating cups, and so easy!
