After yesterday’s affirmation about love and support being all around me, I was thinking about self love and what a good affirmation on that topic might be. Love of self seemed to be the natural next on my list.
Today, let’s forget about the crowds around me and just focus on me, right at the center of my world:
One word that kept jumping out over and over was “acceptance” … I accept myself.
As I thought about that word, it occurred to me that acceptance isn’t exactly what I’ve been going for. I don’t think accepting myself is quite enough. I not only want to accept myself even with my limitations (which is what the word implies to me), but fully and unconditionally love and embrace what makes me, me. I have to cherish every part of my self, even the struggles, even the mental illness.
Affirmation #7
Not only that … I want to love and believe in myself so wholeheartedly, that I show myself love in action.
In my head, I believe I have great value and deserve happiness and success, but do my actions show me that I truly believe it? What actions do I take to show myself love? Well, this exercise of the 30 Days of Positive Affirmations is one example where I think I’m knocking it out of the park. But that’s a rarity for me.
Is self love in action rare for you too?
Do you sometimes get so down on yourself that you do the opposite of what you should? Do you sabotage yourself? If someone else was struggling, you’d probably be the first person at their door offering to help. Why can’t you offer that help to yourself? Why can’t I?
One way I’m trying to emphasize my love of self and belief in myself is by repeating these affirmations. After 6 (and now 7) days of sending my wishes and desires into the universe, I feel as though I am actually starting to agree with this again, and if I keep repeating it maybe it will stick.
I dearly LOVE and believe in myself.
I am worthy of my own love.
I can make things happen.
And I will do what it takes to prove it.
