Day 14 of 30 Days of Positive Affirmations is about projecting confidence and beauty.

During my recent depression, I have not felt confident nor beautiful for months.
When I feel this way I tend to “let myself go” so to speak and focus less on the things that help me feel more confident, strong and beautiful. Yes, some of that includes purely physical things, like making sure I dye my grey roots regularly (just check my Instagram feed for my last grey root pic!); or wearing bright colors; or actually putting on makeup.
Other things that boost my confidence affect me both inside and out, such as eating less carbs and drinking more water … I lose weight but also have WAY less anxiety (double bonus!)
And still others are purely internal, like opening up with my writing or sharing my feelings with doctors or loved ones.
During the past 14 days of thinking about, writing about and repeating these affirmations, I have absolutely without a doubt improved. Just the fact that I pulled out my camera and took that pic above is proof. I have to confess that ALL of the photos I’ve used of myself in my blog posts for probably three months have been old pics, photos from a time when I felt less frumpy and more myself. I’m not saying all is well with the world, but it’s getting better.
