Day 22 of 30 Days of Positive Affirmations is all about social media.
We all have them, the friends’ who’s status updates we typically love to see. They’re entertaining, engaging, intellectually stimulating. You could only wish you were so clever.
At least that’s the way I feel … especially when I’m in a state of depression or trying desperately to climb out of one. It’s not that I want to take away what they have. It is a gift. I actually just want to bottle it and share it with myself and others. Where do they find all this cool stuff to share anyway!?
I want to be funny. I want to be clever. I want to be engaging.
And because so often I don’t feel that way …
Affirmation #22
Today I am repeating this over and over again. If I say it, it will come.
Likes and comments will flow over me like the waves of the sea.
Others will not only be interested in what I have to say, but I’ll feel like I’m saying things that matter. To myself. To others.
My words are funny.
My words are clever.
My words are engaging.
I do not need to compare myself to others because my words, my life, my social media presence has value.
How do you feel on social media? Do you compare yourself to others?
Earth Day
Also, today is earth day. I started to think about how we help protect the environment and I realized that my procrastinating, depressive & anxious mama self actually does help the earth. Here’s a quick list. Do you have any?
1. I procrastinate on laundry, do it less often, and load more into each wash in our energy/water efficient machines. Saves on energy & water consumption.
2. It’s difficult for me to summon the energy to go grocery shopping, so sometimes we order my groceries online. They use reusable grocery totes instead of plastic bags. Less plastic use.
3. I procrastinate on running the dish washer letting plates pile up in the sink. Saves on energy & water consumption.
4. We don’t get out of the house as much as I’d like when my energy level is low. Less gasoline/fuel consumption.
